
Stuttering is a speaking pattern in which the child pauses while speaking and tries to repeat what is said but has difficulty doing so; it is often associated with ticks. Generally, stuttering is seen among children between the ages of 2-7 years. But, it is seen more frequently in children between the ages of 3-5 years. This problem is more severe in boys; the girl-boy ratio is 1/5. According to research, there is a high ratio of family members of children who stutter.
