Phonological (Articulation) Disorder

Phonological disorder is the difficulty of making the correct speaking sounds that are required when speaking a language. When a child, based on his/her age and accent/dialect, can not make the sounds that are expected of him/her developmentally, then, the child may have a phonological disorder. This condition can cause problems at school, home and in social situations. The severity of the problem can differ from small mishaps to speech that cannot be understood at all.
