Eating disorders are made-up of two clinical types: Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. The symptoms of Anorexia Nervosa consist of the following: changes in the individual's perception of his/her body; always see themselves as fat - when in fact they are actually not – and they try to lose weight because of this. Among all the mental health illnesses, this is the rarest one in which the individual may die because of the illness.
On the other hand, Bulimia Nervosa is when the individual goes through periods of constantly eating (binge-eating or purging) and dieting. This illness is seen to begin around puberty and early adulthood. It has been found that 90% of individuals with Bulimia Nervosa are women. Due to problems they have with controlling their impulses, individuals with this illness come for treatment with other problems as well such as: substance abuse, emotional instability and suicidal attempts.
