For the first time the most significant societies leauge together for the conference that was held under the sponsorship of NPISTANBUL Neuropsychiatry Hospital.
The professional neuroscience societies; (ECNS)EEG& Clinical Neuroscience Society, (ISBET) International Society for Brain Electromagnetic Topography, (ISNIP) International Society for Neuroimaging in Psychiatry, participated in the conference that was held in 14th-18th November 2010.
NPISTANBUL Neuropsychiatry Hospital was established with the contributions of İstanbul Univesity Faculty of Medicine Biophysics Department, Bogazici University Faculty of Engineering Biomedical Department, İstanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine Psychiatry Major Field of Study and supported by TUBITAK The Support Program for Dometic Activities.
The conference in which there was an important session about ‘Brain’, the project of science in 21st. Century, was held with the common participations of Neurology, Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, Bioengineering and Information Technologies( Artificial Intelligence) Disciplines.
There were 102 free oral presentations mainly by foreign academicians in the conference participated by the academicians over 200 from Japan, USA, Italy, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, England, Sweden, Australia, Korea, Hungary, Russia, India, Germany, Taiwan, Persia and Mexico.

In the coctail in NPISTANBUL Neuropsychiatry Hospital on the 3rd day of the conference, the awards of Dr. E. Roy. John and free oral presentation by the scientific committee of ECNS Conference were given to the winners.
All participants of the conference had a visit to the clinical settings of NPISTANBUL Neuropsychiatry Hospital that has achieved a unique implementation and then receive detailed information about the implementaions.
The scientists that investigated the facility conditions of the hospital saw the fact that medical implemantations were practiced with the new and utmost methods and technologies as well as their appropriateness to the international levels.
In the cocktail, marbling was demonstrated to the participants in a practical way and whirling dervish performance was presented.
The world renown scientists stated through the interviews that the conference’s scientific content was really satisfactory, effective discussion setting was created and it made great contributions to the field of neuropsychiatry.
During the visit to the hospital the prominent psychiatrists and neurologists investigated the electrophysiology laboratory, QEEG implementations, pharmacogenetics laboratory, tms implementations, psychotherapy and psychiatry policlinics, residential clinics, the process of electroconvulsive treatment, intensive care unit, psycho-emergency service and psycho-emergency ambulance, occupational therapy of the hospital and stated that they were really impressed. They thanked to Nevzat Tarhan, executive director of NPISTANBUL Neuropsychiatry Hospital.
Thanks to his scientific contributions and efforts to the field of neuropsychiatry, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan was selected to the Administrative Board by the Administrative Board of (ECNS) EEG& Clinical Neuroscience Society.
The conference in which there were courses for physicians, scientific improvements were discussed and the pioneer neuroscience professionals participated created an important possibility for the physicians studying in that field.
