Expert Clinical Psychologist Meral SARIKAYA

After completing her primary and high school education in Istanbul, she graduated from Istanbul University Psychology Department in 2001. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at Bakırköy Mental Health and Neurological Disorders Training and Research Hospital. She actively participated in the earthquake zone during the 1999 Marmara earthquake. Between 2001 and 2006, she worked with children and adolescents at the Attention, Hearing, and Speech Disorders Rehabilitation Center. Simultaneously, she conducted individual psychotherapy sessions with adults with attention deficit disorder and specific learning difficulties at Denge Education and Counseling Center, as well as working with adult cases at Akademi Therapy Center. From 2006 to 2015, she worked at Erenköy Mental Health and Neurological Disorders Training and Research Hospital, where she was involved in the diagnosis and treatment of adult patients in the psychosis and neurosis departments, as well as outpatient and inpatient services at the polyclinic. Her responsibilities included dynamic-oriented individual psychotherapy, psychodrama group therapy, interaction groups, psycho-educational group therapy, and psychometric test applications. She received training on psychometric tests from the Psychology Laboratory of Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine.

After completing her master's degree, between 2004 and 2006, she completed the Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies training and supervision provided by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Z. Sungur at the Cognitive Behavioral Therapies Association. She completed her training at Istanbul International Zerka Moreno Institute, which she started in 2004, and became a psychodrama group therapist (Psychodramatist) in 2011. She participated in Psychodynamic Oriented Psychotherapy Training given by Prof. Dr. Doğan Şahin. She completed Rorschach and TAT training given by Prof. Dr. Tevfika Tunaboylu İkiz at the Rorschach and Projective Tests Association.

She received training on Domestic Violence Education for Women from the Ministry of Health and subsequently provided Domestic Violence Education for the Ministry of Health Primary Care Teams. She obtained the "Authorization Certificate for Medical Applications of Psychology" from the Ministry of Health. She received therapy training for Sexual Dysfunction from the Center for Sexual Education and Treatment Research (CETAD). She started practicing as a therapist in interaction groups after receiving the Interaction Group training and supervision given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Celal Odağ. Between 2012 and 2015, she participated in the analytic-oriented case supervisions of Uzm. Psk. Yavuz Erten, Prof. Dr. Bella Habip, and Prof. Dr. Mine Özmen.

She took part in the establishment of the "Psychotherapy Center" at Erenköy Mental Health and Neurological Disorders Training and Research Hospital and worked as an individual and group therapist in the field of neurotic disorders and personality disorders until 2015. Since August 2015, she has been working as an adult psychotherapist at Üsküdar University NP Etiler Medical Center. She also teaches part-time at Üsküdar University.
