 Several important improvements have been carried out in diagnosis
and treatment of childhood psychiatric disorders. Pharmacological
treatment has been the first option in these disorders.
Hospitalization of children has been important for a detailed
observation and dose titration in the treatment of children and
adolescents. This paradigmatic shift led to the emergence of child psychiatry
inpatient units all over the world due to this paradigmatic shift.
In Turkey there are just two such units. In addition to the one in
the Bursa Faculty of Medicine, the NPISTANBUL Hospital has a
child and adolescent psychiatry unit with three beds. |
